I just read an essay by Ursula K. LeGuin that immediately reminded me of this piece: "A dragon, not a dragon cleverly-copied or mass-produced, but a creature of evil who crawls up, threatening and inexplicable, out of the artist’s own unconscious, is alive: terribly alive. It frightens children, and the artist, and the rest of us." Yep, that would be this piece right here. Well. Done.
this is my favorite work for a while.. i'll make this huge wall poster on a canvas tissue, you know, it will look very modern design tissue.. with this work, ironicly, i've find peace and rest for me. it's kind of looking at the universe's end which lies there madness and balance.. and look this: [link]
Don't know if anyone has made this correlation yet, list of comments is too long to read through ...but this is what came to me right when I saw this piece: Ministry - Burning Inside [link] Lyrics: [link]

I love this piece. The atmospheric texture and cool color palette really emphasize the blast of hot color coming from her eyes and mouth. The ambient light from those glowing parts, combined with the dripping molten material, really makes the heat palpable. A very visceral pic to look at. <3
